API will be presenting APILON 52 BIO, a new line of Thermoplastic Polyurethanes, at SIMAC TANNING-TECH 2017, the international event being held from 21st – 23rd February at the Exhibition Center of Milan Rho.
The APILON 52 BIO family is characterized by its very high content – over 50% – of renewable resources offering mechanical performance equal to traditional products from fossil sources.
The principal benefits to the environment are measured through the Life Cycle Assessment (ISO 14040 and 14044), the internationally recognized methodology that measures energy expenditure and water consumption in the production process and its effect on global warming. Here, the LCA recognizes the smaller “carbon footprint” as one of the key "green benefits”.
The broadness of the APILON 52 BIO range, which includes Polymers and Compounds, allows its use in the widest variety of applications, both in footwear and in leather goods, acknowledging and reacting to the ever stronger ethical principles in the world of Fashion that represent an essential element for the development of a system of eco-sustainable economy bringing social, economic and environmental advantages.
With this latest range of Bioplastics, API renews its commitment to the development of products with a low environmental impact which API began back in 2008 with the presentation of their Soft Biodegradable APINAT BIO.
