Where Innovation Grows
API has a remarkable history in the athletic footwear segment, from the development and introduction of TPU as an innovative material for ski boots in the 1960’s, to the latest compounding of crosslinked EVA, TPU blends and expanded materials. Recognized on the market as an innovation partner with high-quality materials and deep expertise, we’ve developed close collaborations with customers that have a proven record of success, especially in winter and water sports segments.
We believe that we have developed the winning formula for athletic footwear with the APILON 52 A/C series, – the best possible alternative to vulcanized rubber when it comes to thermoabrasion resistance, recyclability and production efficiencies.Global TPE T&I Leader
Improving Your Performance
At API, we believe your company’s performance is just as important as that of athletes. That's why we developed APILON™ 52 A/C, a TPU material providing you a recyclable and more cost-efficient alternative thanks to its up to 70-percent reduction in production cycle times as compared to vulcanized rubber and EVA. The outstanding combination of soft-touch, aesthetics, light weight and a very high thermoabrasion resistance make this novel material especially suitable to replace vulcanized rubber in athletic footwear.
