One Step Ahead

API was founded in 1956 by Sergio Brunetti in Bassano del Grappa in the hills of northern Italy, not far from the Dolomite Mountains. The company has always been a pioneer in the field of producing plastic compounds. Due to its strategic position at the heart of an area with a strong heritage in providing materials for clothing and footwear, but also close to the commercial hub of Venice, API continues to benefit from a wealth of knowledge that aids its intensive research and development efforts. Since its founding, API grew from its founder’s dream into a worldwide leader in developing and producing thermoplastic elastomeric compounds and bioplastics. Today, API is a Trinseo company with global reach and a worldwide pool of resources.
API is constantly pushing the envelope of what’s possible to enhance our reputation as a trusted supplier for the fashion industry – successfully anticipating the needs of an ever-changing market with a growing range of innovative products.
Bioplastics

The Natural Choice

For API, protecting the environment and public health are fundamental values that must be passed on to future generations. That is why our latest bioplastics combine physical/mechanical properties with a clear ecological message.

Following our Bio & Beyond approach, we acknowledge that replacing fossil-based materials with bioplastics can offer significant environmental advantages. API is growing today while keeping an eye on the world of tomorrow.
